i have retrobarophobia, although i didn’t know that is what it is called. i have called it a fear of falling up. if i look up at high things or lay on my back and look at the sky, i get the idea that if i let go of the earth, i’ll fall into the sky. it’s not fun, but as long as i don’t look up, i’m ok. i also have a fear of heights that i’ve overcome some. thanks for naming my fear!

My good friend had a fear of gravity reversing itself growing up. I always thought it was hilarious, but every now and then he’d talk about it. He’d always prefer to stand by buildings, or under the overhangs, or next to trees, or obviously just stay inside.

Cracked me up, but, really – phobias are intense and scary, and now I feel bad for him having been forced to think of this in realm of ‘phobia’ instead of just quirk. Damn you.

There’s a children’s fairy tale in the country I’m from about an otter. The kids befriend a cute creature named Retto who lives by the river and together they try to solve the mystery of why all the chickens are being stolen and killed/eaten. Turns out Retto is OTTER BACKWARDS AND HE PWN3D THEM ALL ALONG!!1

It was a great story though, seriously.

All of these are terrifying. Except for otters. But I’ve never met one and I get the feeling they might be little jerks wrapped in a bundle of adorable. So I’m not afraid of them, yet.

I think the morning comic thing might be better named as matuttisophobia. Literally, “morning (matut-) art (-tis) fear.” And yes, I did spend at least 10 minutes searching the web for that. XD
